Man allegedly kills sister for marrying out of choice

FAISALABAD/KHARIAN: A man allegedly killed his sister over “illicit relations” in the Lundianwala police limits on Monday.

According to police, Nighat Bibi had left home to marry Sadam Hussain of Chak No 633-GB some 10 days ago. However, she returned home following the decision of a panchayat.

On Monday, the accused, Akram, exchanged harsh words with his sister over the issue and later shot her dead.

He then fled the scene.

The body was handed over to the family for burial after the completion of formalities and further probe is underway.

WOMAN ‘STABS’ HUSBAND TO DEATH:

Separately, a woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death with a sharp-edged weapon over a domestic dispute.

Police said that Riffat, hailing from Kharian, had gotten married to Tanveer, her cousin, some eight months ago and was in differences with the man over domestic issues.

A quarrel took place between the couple last week, after which Tanveer subjected his wife to physical abuse.

On Monday, in an act of vengeance, Riffat stabbed her husband, killing him on the spot and later fleeing the scene.

The body was shifted to a hospital for postmortem while the police, after registering a case, have started conducting raids to arrest the accused.
