KARACHI: The district courts in Sindh disposed 148,886 cases at a conviction rate of 7.73 per cent within the first seven months of the year, a local media outlet reported on Sunday.
However, 102,393 cases have not yet been resolved with the total backlog standing at 97,634 cases on the last day of the previous year.
The acquittal rate since January stands at 13.9 per cent. On the other hand, the total conviction rate of Karachi’s four district courts is at 8.6 per cent and aquittal rate of 14.9 per cent.
Furthermore, the Anti terrorism courts convicted 223 in 1742 cases.
