Coordination of institutions was key factor in peaceful elections: CM

KARACHI: Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Fazal-ur-Rehman on Monday appreciated the efforts of all the concerned institutions for conducting peaceful security arrangements.

He expressed these views while presiding a high-level meeting which was attended by all the cabinet members, chief secretary, Rangers DG, Sindh IGP, principal secretary to CM, Karachi additional inspector general police (AIGP), all the concerned provincial secretaries, all divisional commissioners and deputy inspector generals (DIG) and provincial heads of intelligence agencies.

The chief minister said that conducting of general election 2018 was a huge task but thanks to his cabinet members and his team including chief secretary, Rangers, police, intelligence agencies, senior members Board of Revenue and their teams worked day and night and made it possible.

He thanked all the cabinet members and concerned officers for achieving the task. “I am proud to say that the election was conducted in a peaceful manner,” he said.

Chief Secretary Major (r) Azam Suleman said that the transportation of over 70,000 polling staff and meeting their requirements such as furniture, technical support and other facilities was a big challenge.

Rangers DG Major General Mohammad Saeed said that he was in close coordination with the establishment of chief secretary, IGP and intelligence agencies to make arrangements.

The IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi also talked about the coordinated efforts of every one and also lauded intelligence agencies support.
