LAHORE: The recounting of votes in various constituencies across the country will continue on Sunday.
Votes will be re-tabulated in Lahore’s NA-129, Mardan’s NA-22, Jhang’s NA-114, Faisalabad’s NA-108 and Multan’s NA-154 and NA-157.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had clinched the victory in NA-129 and votes in the constituency will be recounted on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s request.
Sadiq had received 103,021 votes while Khan had bagged 94,879 votes.
Earlier on Saturday, out of 297 polling stations in NA-129, votes had been recounted from 20 stations.
Faisalabad’s NA-128 saw PTI’s Farrukh Habib claim victory over PML-N’s Abid Sher Ali while the later has requested for a vote recount.
Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) leader Faisal Saleh Hayat lost to PTI’s Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob in Jhang.
Recounting of votes will also be done in Gujranwala’s PP-54 and PP-52.
