PESHAWAR: No female candidate could win in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the elections, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.
A total of 48 women candidates had contested in the province but none could attain success. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has neccessitated that each political party must field at least five per cent of female candidates in order to increase female participation in the political process.
Only a handful of candidates gained more than 10,000 votes.
