ISLAMABAD: The country’s top spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting the court to expunge the remarks of an IHC judge in which he had accused ISI officials of manipulating judicial proceedings.

The appeal was filed by Deputy Attorney General Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed on behalf of the agency.

A two-judge bench of the IHC will hear the case next week.

The appeal claimed that IHC’s Justice Siddiqui unnecessarily dragged the ISI while hearing a habeas corpus petition and damaged the Army’s, ISI’s and the Judiciary’s reputation.
