ISLAMABAD: The number of pending cases in the Supreme Court reached an all-time high of 39,870 on July 15, a local media outlet reported on Friday.
There has been a sharp increase in the number of cases as a total of 848 cases were filed at the apex court in the first 15 days of July and 828 were resolved within the same time period.
During a Full Court meeting on July 7, the rising number of cases was acknowledged as part of increasing trust by the people in the judiciary.
During the same meeting, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar asked to develop strategies to manage the cases more efficiently.
