- PML-N leader claims massive irregularities during vote counting
- Khawaja Saad alleges presiding officer deliberately rejected votes
LAHORE: Former railways minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday challenged his opponent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s victory from Lahore’s NA-131.
Rafique alleged that massive irregularities occurred during the vote counting process.
The PML-N leader filed a complaint with the returning officer (RO) concerned and claimed that the presiding officer concerned had deliberately rejected hundreds of votes.
The former minister for railways also demanded a vote recount and requested that the constituency’s electoral result should not be announced until the recount process has been completed.
Preliminary results for the constituency put the PTI chairman ahead.
