Imran Khan summons meeting as early results show PTI leading

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday summoned a consultative meeting of party leaders at his Bani Gala residence as initial results showed the PTI victorious.

The meeting will be presided over by the PTI chief around noon.

During the meeting, the party will mull over next course of action over government formation and leaders will be tasked with to woo in winning independent candidates from across Punjab.

According to reports, Imran Khan will announce an action plan later today for new government formation. The session will also decide on an action plan against the opponents’ reaction following the election results.

As the results started pouring in from across the country, showing PTI victorious, major political parties, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and others, rejected the results, questioning the fairness of the polls.
