LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Monday was informed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that it recovered Rs745 million from private medical colleges who had collected it as overcharged fee and donation from students, a local media outlet reported.

The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar was informed by FIA Director Muhammad Usman that the sum had been returned to 23,000 students.

The CJP had previously taken a suo motu notice of fee structure of medical colleges.

Medical colleges would also have to follow the fee structure and admission policies set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council or risk being fined, the CJP observed.
