ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister’s Secretariat (PMS) has reportedly refused to comply with directives issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding transfers and postings within the bureaucracy.
The ECP had recommended the transfers of 24 civil servants, including the Trading Corporation of Pakistan and Export Processing Zones Authority chairmen and eight federal secretaries.
The commission had reportedly forwarded its recommendations on July 12.
On the other hand, ECP reportedly maintained that the PM secretariat had a legal obligation to adhere to the ECP’s recommendations.
