Imran Khan ‘obsessed’ with Sharifs

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has the Sharifs on his mind more than his own party, the country or anything else, according to a research by Samaa TV.

The news source analysed Imran Khan’s tweets over the past 11 months between September 5, 2017, and July 8, 2018.

During this time Khan tweeted 808 times. There is a relatively higher number of tweets in the months of March and April.

An analysis of the people, places, products and organisations he mentioned during this nearly 11-month period reveals that out of 808 tweets, he tweeted about the Sharifs at least 181 times. These 181 tweets do not include the ones in which he mentioned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) without directly mentioning the Sharif family.

He tweeted about his party, the PTI, and its achievements at least 126 times and about Pakistan almost the same number of times (125). Zardari was mentioned 15 times.

Twitter is playing an increasingly important role in Pakistani politics — as well as across the globe. Although a small fraction of Pakistan nationals is on the platform, it is popular among politicians who seek to influence the influencers.
