LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken several technology-oriented measures to assist voters on election day.

ECP’s short message service has been updated and voters will be able to get the exact address of the polling station they are supposed to go to by sending their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number to 8300.

The same process will also allow a person to check his or her updated voter record.

Moreover, the National Database and Regulatory Authority (Nadra) will switch the Result Transmission System (RTS) on which will allow election officers to forward election results to the ECP in real time.
