Former Punjab police officer Abid Boxer, who is infamous for carrying out dozens of extrajudicial killings, has alleged that he was framed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif after the former’s uncle denied to sell Shehbaz a piece of land. He also said the PML-N leader “planned his encounter” following bad blood between the two.

In a recent video message, Abid denied his involvement in fake encounters, asserted that he was framed in bogus cases and subsequently arrested on the nod of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz.

“Shehbaz wanted to purchase some land owned by my uncle on a price he desired. After they failed to strike a deal, my uncle, Zafar Abbas, and I were nominated in a fake case of threatening some man,” Abid alleged.

“This was something Shehbaz used to do as he was involved in grabbing lands using tampered documents,” he claimed further.

“A plot to get me killed in a fake encounter was also devised by Shehbaz and his son, but I remained safe as former president Pervez Musharraf declared a state of emergency in the country,” he said, adding that the court then nullified his detainment while his uncle was tortured to death.

“When Shehbaz came to power in 2008, he once again started harassing me and I had to flee the country while leaving my family behind,” he claimed while adding that he would soon reveal how innocent people are killed in fake encounters and how their properties are usurped.

Abid, who is known as an “encounter specialist” for his alleged ruthless above the law actions during the 1990s, was reportedly brought back to Pakistan earlier this after being arrested in the UAE.

It is alleged that he was very close to former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Shairf and has committed many crimes at his behest.
