ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Rehman Malik on Wednesday said that the committee would discuss one point agenda of security arrangements for voters, candidates, electoral staff and polling vicinities in an important meeting on Thursday
Talking to media after meeting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (r) Sardar Muhammad Raza, Rehman Malik expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the election day.
He said that the Senate and its standing committees would provide all possible support to ECP in that regard.
Rehman Malik said that the Senate committee has concerns over the elections security arrangements due to recent bomb blasts. However, he said that the election commissioner briefed the committee regarding the security arrangements which is commendable.
Earlier, National Counter Terrorism Authority briefed the committee regarding the overall security situation, he added.
