RAWALPINDI: The bails of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and candidates alleged of creating hurdle in the arrest of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son in law Capt (r) Safdar following his conviction by the accountability court in the Avenfield reference have been extended till July 28.

Additional Sessions Judge Mohammad Atta Rabbani took up the petitions for hearing on Wednesday.

During the hearing of the case, the court ordered to present the record of city police station in the next hearing.

The cases have been registered against Chaudhary Tanveer, Malik Babar, Daniyal Chaudhary and Hanif Abbasi including others for creating hurdle in the arrest of Safdar.

The cases against the leaders of PML-N were registered on the reports of police and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while the convict Capt Safdar is in jail.

It may be recalled that the court in the verdict of Avenfield reference handed 11-year sentence to deposed PM Nawaz Sharif, 8 years to his daughter Maryam Nawaz and 1 year to Safdar.

After the conviction by court Capt (r) Safdar was alleged of absconding before he presented himself for arrest before the NAB officials. Before the arrest, he took part in a PML-N rally in Rawalpindi.
