Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is considering to launch Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar for its election campaign.
Junaid Safdar reached Lahore on Monday to meet his parents and maternal grandfather Nawaz Sharif in Adiala Jail.
According to a senior PML-N leader, whether Junaid Safdar manages to visit his elders in jail or not, he is likely to address corner meetings in specific constituencies.
“Although a number of party candidates want to invite him for their campaigns, it is being decided to arrange corner meetings for him in NA-127, from where his mother had planned to contest before disqualification, NA-123, the seat where PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is a candidate, and in NA-59, where incarcerated PML-N leader Raja Qamarul Islam is contesting against former interior minister Chaudhary Nisar,” the party leader said.
The party official further said that decision on selecting more constituencies for Mr Safdar and content of his speech will be decided after his meeting with his mother.
According to the leader, the party will release more audio message or a video message, if possible, if the duo is denied bail in Avenfield case.
