Reham Khan, born in 1973 on April 3, rose to fame after she came to Pakistan and later married Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan amidst much controversy and later wrote a ‘tell-all’ autobiography.
Reham was born to a Pakistani physician, Nayyar Khan. Ethnically a Pashtun, Reham is reportedly fluent in four languages; English, Urdu, Hindko and Pashtu.
Her family hails from Baffa, a town near Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
She was born in Ajdabiya in Libya because her family had moved to the North African state in the 1960s.
Reham has two siblings; a brother Munir Khan Nayyar and a sister Salma Nayyar.
Moreover, Reham’s is Abdul Hakeem Khan’s niece. Khan was former Peshawar High Court (PHC) chief justice and former KP governor.
Reham enrolled herself in Jinnah College for Women (JCW) in Peshawar for higher studies and graduated with a bachelors degree in education.
Reham married her first cousin Ejaz Rehman in 1993. She was 19 years old at the time.
At the time of her marriage, Rehman was a British psychiatrist.
The couple later divorced in 2005 following which Reham went on to become a broadcast journalist.
Reham and Rehman sired three children who reportedly continue to live with their mother after their parents split.
Reham began her career as a journalist and her ascent was reportedly precipitated due to her hard work.
In 2006, she became a TV show host on Legal TV.
She became a TV presenter in 2007 and worked for Sunshine Radio.
Reham joined the BBC in 2008.
The year 2013 saw Reham coming back to Pakistan where she started working for News One.
She moved to Aaj TV and then had a short-lived stint with the PTV.
Later, she went to work for Dawn TV and hosted a current affairs show called In Focus.
In January 2015, the PTI chief revealed that he and Reham were married.
In May 2015, She began hosting The Reham Khan Show.
Late in 2015, Reham joined Neo Tv and hosted a show called Tabdeeli but left the channel in mid-2016.
In October 2015, Reham went through her second divorce.
She added filmmaking to her set of skills and produced Janaan, a movie which premiered in 2013 on September 13.
In 2018, rumours started circulating that Reham had written an autobiography which also contained details about her life with Imran Khan during her time as his wife.
Following the rumours, actor Hamza Abbasi criticised Reham publically on Twitter and several others served her with a lawsuit pertaining to defamation.
Those who sent her legal notices include Imran Khan’s close aide Zulfi Bukhari, former cricketer Wasim Akram, Reham’s first husband Rehman and PTI foreign media head Anila Khawaja.
Reham, in her autobiography, has spoken about alleged sexual misconduct and the personal and sex lives of her former second husband Imran Khan and several other persons in Pakistan.
