MUMBAI: Indian actor Ranbir Kapoor is on a high these days as his latest offering, Sanju film, is making big money at box office. The film has earned Rs 278.58 crore within 12 days of the release.
According to a Bollywood news, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial has already broken 10 box office records, including those for the highest opener and the highest weekend opener of 2018. Ranbir plays Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in the film that traces the life of Sanjay.
According to a Box Office India report, Sanju earned Rs 7.5 crore on the second Wednesday of its release, making a total of Rs 278.58 crore in 12 days. If the film keeps the same pace for next few days, it will soon cross the Rs 300-crore mark. Paresh Rawal essays the role of Sunil Dutt and Manisha Koirala plays Sanjay’s mom Nargis. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh, among others
After making a smashing opening with Rs 34.75 crore, Sanju became the highest grosser of 2018 as well as Ranbir’s and Rajkumar Hirani’s careers. The film went on to cross the Rs 100-crore-mark in the first weekend itself, again making it to the highest weekend grosser of 2018 and the actor and director’s respective careers.
With the first Sunday earnings of Rs 46.71 crore, Sanju also made it to the highest single day collection for any Bollywood film ever. Earlier, Baahubali The Conclusion had collected Rs 46.50 crore and held the record.
