2 killed, 3 injured in firing incidents

JARANWALA: At least two people were killed and three others were injured in separate incidents of firing over marriage feud and verbal clash on Sunday.

Police said that the culprits Azhar and Zafar hailing from Chak 632-GB Jaranwala sent marriage proposal for their first cousin which was rejected by their uncle Shaukat and settled wedding of his daughter with another person identified as Tabrez.

Annoyed over the rejection of the wedding proposal, the culprits barged the house of their uncle and opened indiscriminate fire, killing their uncle Shaukat and injuring his three-year-old daughter Natasha. The police arrested Azhar while Zafar managed to escape.

The culprits Anjum, Bahadur and others belonging to Rana Group, after an exchange of hot words over a minor dispute, opened fire at members of Gujjar community in Chak No 240-GB.

A youth identified as Waseem was killed in the firing while his two cousins Sheraz and Asif were critically injured.

The bodies and injured of both incidents were shifted to hospitals and the police, after registering separate cases at concerned police stations, started investigations.
