Nawaz should return nation’s looted Rs300bln: Imran Khan

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday said that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif should return the looted Rs300 billion to the nation.

Addressing party workers here, he said that change had come to Pakistan which would be evident on July 25, adding that he would strengthen the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to tackle corruption.

“I would hand over tax evaders to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and NAB,” he said.

The PTI chairman claimed that he would collect Rs8,000 billion for the national exchequer and expand the work done on education and health sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to the entire country. “Corruption and nepotism have been brought to an end in KP,” he claimed.

Imran said that the Supreme Court had declared him ‘saadiq’ and ‘ameen’, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) harmed the country with their corruption.

He also said that solving water scarcity was an important part of PTI’s manifesto and his government would improve the state of government hospitals.
