ISLAMABAD: A red warrant was issued against former finance minister Ishaq Dar by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday, the attorney general informed the Supreme Court
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar was informed of the move by the attorney general during the hearing of a case pertaining Dar’s return to the country.
The attorney general said that after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Interior Affairs, a red warrant was issued and forwarded to Interpol by the FIA.
A reply submitted by the interior ministry also informed the apex court that help would be sought from Interpol to bring Dar back to Pakistan.
“What has been done pertaining to seizing Dar’s foreign property,” the Justice Sardar Tariq inquired. “The request to seize property has been attached with the red warrant,” responded the attorney general.
The case was adjourned for two weeks.
