LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader and former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday said that there was no harm in arresting a person convicted for corruption.

Addressing a joint meeting of PML-Q and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Gujrat, he said that it “wasn’t that big of a deal” and the police should have had a normal procedure, according to which, they should’ve tried to stop the protestors and if they did not stop, then arrest them.

He said that Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif, during their tenure, had done nothing for the future generations and the chief justice of Pakistan had exposed corruption of billions of rupees in Shehbaz’s Saaf Paani Company.

“Compare their performance with my initiatives such as Rescue 1122 Service or other steps I took to reform the health sector.”

The meeting was also addressed by PTI candidate from PP-31, Chaudhry Salim Sarwar Jaura while Zameer Shah, Syed Atif Azmat, Ali Ibrar Jaura, Chaudhry Nadeem Akbar Jaura, Shujat Zaib Jaura, Malik Faisal Imran, Malik Muhammad Kabir Ahmad, Malik Basharat Ahmad, Malik Latif Ahmad, Malik Muhammad Ayub, Malik Javed, Mian Parvaiz Akhtar Pagganwala and other leaders were also present at the occasion.
