Politicians, global observer, CPEC staff to be given security

ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary for Ministry of Interior Wednesday announced to provide security to political leaders, global observers and technical team working on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The federal secretary for interior chaired a videolink conference with provincial chief secretaries, home secretaries and inspector generals of respective police departments.

According to details, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) provided threat alerts on the basis of which it was brought into consideration to strengthen the security of key political leaders.

The meeting also discussed issues pertaining to threats faced by the politicians from internal and external sources while consequent information sharing of the matter on the provincial level also conversed.

The conference emphasised the political leaders cooperate with the district administration for their foolproof security and also follow precautionary measures, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety.

It was also directed to enhance the security of political leaders having serious security threats while better coordination and communication among provincial governments for information sharing was also discussed.
