PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday visited Peshawar and met Bilour Family to condole the martyrdom of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour.
While talking to the engraved family, COAS said, “Bilour family has stood firm in war against terrorism with great sacrifices during national effort. We have come a long way in our challenging journey to peace and destination isn’t far Inshallah.”
He added that the Pakistani nation stands united against all proponents of hate and mayhem regardless of hue and colour.
Bilour died on late Tuesday night in the suicide attack at a corner meeting of the ANP.
BILOUR’S WIFE TO CONTEST POLLS:
Wife of Haroon Bilour will contest elections from PK-78 constituency. Talking to journalists, Danyal Bilour, son of slain Haroon Bilour, said his mother will now contest elections from PK 78 constituency (former PK-3 constituency).
“I and my mother will continue the mission for which my father, Haroon Bilour and grandfather, Bashir Bilour who sacrificed their lives,” he said.
In response to a question, Danyal Bilour said terrorists cannot succeed in browbeating their family from participating in the political process.
“The vests of suicide bombers will end, but our chests not,” Danyal remarked and hastened to add that “we will continue to take part in democratic process of the country.”
Haroon Bilour’s wife is daughter of former Sindh minister Irfanullah Marwat, and grand daughter of former President of Pakistan late Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
