LHC dismisses plea against Aleem Khan’s nomination papers for NA-129

–Aleem appears before NAB ‘to uphold supremacy of law’

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday dismissed a petition against the nomination papers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdul Aleem Khan for NA-129 constituency and allowed him to contest the polls.

A two-member bench of the high court dismissed the plea for not resorting to court in time and gave Aleem the permission to participate in the general elections.

Separately, Aleem said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was a national institution and he appeared before its officials to uphold the supremacy of law.

Speaking to the media representatives outside the NAB office, he said that everyone should be questioned about offshore companies, adding that he did not own any.

To a question, Aleem said that masses were fully aware of the corrupt leaders and would reject them in the forthcoming elections. He said the election results would decide the future of the country and added that it would set a new economic direction for the nation.

Speaking of the allegations leveled by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, Aleem said that the former had called him a land grabber multiple times, but had never been able to present any evidence in this regard.

Training guns at the PML-N chief, he also challenged him to point out the “land which he had grabbed”.

To a question, he said that PML-N would face defeat in the upcoming polls and Shehbaz Sharif would have to face the music on the issue of Punjab’s 56 companies that were established during Shehbaz’s tenure as the chief minister.

About the arrest of political workers, the PTI leader said that nobody should be arrested and issues with the local administration should be resolved through dialogue.
