RAWALPINDI: Punjab police has decided to raise ‘special police units’ to serve during the general elections and overcome the manpower shortage.
All district police officer (DPOs) have reportedly been directed to raise the force.
The DPOs have been ordered to strictly adhere to the set criteria and only Punjab domicile holders can be recruited.
A three-day orientation training and basic policing guidance will be given to the recruits.
The recruits will wear white clothes with a red armband inscribed with ‘special police’.
