CJP says judicial reforms not possible without lawyers’ input

ISLAMABAD: While hearing a petition regarding judicial reforms, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday confessed that he has been unable to work for judicial reforms.

“I will be regretted the whole life, requested all the renowned lawyers to give their suggestion but they have not replied. An individual cannot work of judicial reforms,” CJP said.

Apex court’s two member bench headed by CJP also ordered the parties to submit their replies within 10 days.

On this occasion, the petitioner was of the view that to restrain fake witnesses there should be strict legislation.

CJP further said that we had announced to give the verdict within 30 days, but have been unable to have assistance from my home.

Attorney general informed the apex court that we have amended 15 laws, on this court ordered him to provide the copies of amended laws to the applicant and postpone the hearing till 06 August.
