Thinktank report claims 250 died, 271 injured in second quarter of 2018

ISLAMABAD: At least 250 persons lost their lives and 271 suffered injuries due to various forms of violence during the second quarter of 2018.

The country had observed a 51pc decrease in violence-related deaths, according to a report prepared by the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).

Moreover, 30 of the total victims in tribal areas were victims of sectarian violence.

Out of the 30, 17 had died while 13 were injured.

Balochistan witnessed the highest number of casualties, 73, according to the report.

The report also revealed that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the death of eight persons
