PICTURE: Capt (r) Safdar hid in a cave to avoid NAB arrest

MANSEHRA: A picture that went viral on the internet shows former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar hiding in a Mansehra cave along with friends ahead of his surrender in Rawalpindi over conviction in the Avenfield flats corruption case.

According to local media, the picture was reportedly released by Safdar’s aides claimed that the cave was located in the mountainous Tanawal area. Moreover, it showed him with a small suitcase.

After the court announced his conviction in the Avenfield case on Friday for one-year, following which he announced that he was ready to surrender. However, he went into ‘hiding’ prior to that.

It was also reported that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz sources claimed that Safdar left the cave on Sunday morning to reach Rawalpindi.

He is also facing a NAB inquiry into Rs4 billion corruption in Mansehra development funds.
