Nawaz Sharif’s mother has said that she will accompany the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters at Lahore airport to welcome her son before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrests him.
According to media reports, 85-year-old Shamim Akhtar insisted that she wants to be there to receive the deposed prime minister. She has conveyed to the family that she will also make an appearance.
Moreover, the emotional mother also said that she will stop the anti-graft body from arresting her son. She added that she will accompany Nawaz when NAB officials take him into custody.
Last Friday, an accountability court sentenced Nawaz to 10-year jail in Avenfield properties reference for accumulating assets beyond income. His daughter Maryam Nawaz was handed a seven-year jail term for abetment in the purchase of the posh property in London.
The father-daughter duo – who have been in London to attend ailing Kulsoom Nawaz – announced their Pakistan return for Friday the thirteenth this month.
