Minister stresses ‘friendship with books’ for national progress

LAHORE: Caretaker Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Chaudhary Faisal Mushtaq on Monday said that books were the best friends of human beings and nations which developed friendship with books were the only ones to progress.

Appreciating the administration on organising a free book club for the children during his visit to the National Book Museum, the minister said that providing children with opportunities for book reading was welcoming.

“Summer vacations are the right time for children to spend quality time with books. These books not only teach moral values but also produce love for the country,” he said.

The minister visited the library and bookshop of the museum and also wrote his comments in the visitors’ book there. He also interacted with children at the free summer book club.
