After final defeat, Glenn Maxwell ‘refuses’ to shake hands with Sarfraz

HARARE: After facing defeat from Pakistan in the final of T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe, Australian player Glenn Maxwell ‘refused’ to shake hands with Sarfraz Ahmed, captain of Pakistan team.

In a video circulating on social media, players can be seen shaking hands after the match but Maxwell apparently refused to do it with Sarfraz.

A Twitter user posted the clip and wrote: “For those who missed it. This is what happened.”

Sports journalist Zainab Abbas also condemned this and wrote: “Not a great gesture by to refuse to shake hands in the end with the captain of the Pak team, uncalled for and not in the spirit of the game.

Another sports reporter Emmad Waheed also criticised Maxwell writing, “Terrible behaviour! How will @CricketAus react…will they react? Is this the post #Sandpaper controversy Australia? ? #GlennMaxwell #PAKvAUS“.
