ISLAMABAD: The capital’s district administration on Sunday served notices pertaining to violation of the electoral code of conduct to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and former prime minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Moreover, notices pertaining to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) rules regarding electoral advertising campaigns were also served to thirteen other candidates.
The other candidates include Syed Sibtul Hasan Shah, Asad Omar, Zubair Farooq, Afzal Khokhar, Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Shakeel Anjum, Imran Ashraf, Mian Aslam and Chaudhry Rizwan Saifi.
The candidates were given a 24-hour deadline to remove the advertisements.
The authorities concerned said that if the candidates did not comply with the warning then their cases would be forwarded to the ECP for legal action.
