Hot, humid conditions to persist in most parts of province

LAHORE: Mainly hot and dry weather will persist across Punjab including the provincial capital on Monday, according to the Met Office forecast.

The maximum temperature in Lahore on Sunday was recorded 39-degree Celsius.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Kashmir and its adjoining areas.

“Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir,” said the Monday forecast.

According to the synoptic situation, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its trough extending eastward.

Experts have predicted the prevailing weather condition would persist with even more intensity during the next few days.

Farmers have been advised to take all measures to protect their standing crops and vegetables from damaging effects of high temperature.

It is expected that there will be rain in Lahore next Friday.
