Army to extend all support to ECP during elections

ISLAMABAD: Army Election Support Centre Chairman lieutenant General Hamooduz Zaman Khan assured Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (R) Sardar Mohammad Raza on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa that the army would extend all possible help to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in conducting free, impartial, fair and transparent polls.

350,000 to 400,000 troops would be deployed at the polling booths with clearly defined roles, according to an ECP official.

The ECP official also said that the presiding officers would be in charge while the military personnel will strictly adhere to a list of do’s and don’ts.
