After Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, actor Aditya Roy Kapur has injured himself on the sets of his upcoming film Kalank, causing a disruption in the shooting schedule.

As per a report in the Hindustan Times, the actor was shooting an action sequence when he slipped and suffered an injury. He is under medical care since then.

A source from the film sets revealed, “Shooting for Kalank was happening in the Film City [Mumbai] and Aditya, while shooting an intense action scene, somehow lost his grip and slipped. He hurt his jaw and broke a tooth, and was immediately taken to the hospital.”

“The doctor has suggested that he rests for at least six to seven days, depending on how soon he recovers.”

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank, a period drama, also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Kunal Kemmu among others. It marks the reunion of Dutt and Dixit onscreen after a long hiatus. Moreso, Sridevi had originally signed the film, but her untimely demise prompted the filmmakers to rope in Madhuri for the role.

Shooting for the film has currently been stalled due to Aditya’s accident and heavy rainfall in Mumbai seems to make things worse for the makers.

“Something is wrong, as one after another, actors of the film are meeting with accidents since the shoot began [in April this year]. Given the back-to-back incidents, the makers have decided to take extra precaution on the sets,” the source said, adding that Sanjay Dutt seems to be making the most of this free time by going for a short family vacation to Singapore.

Kalank is slated for release next year.
