ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday ordered the authorities concerned to delete Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s close aide, Zulfikar Bukhari’s name from the blacklist and end travel restrictions on the London-based businessman.

Earlier on Tuesday, the IHC had reserved its verdict pertaining to Bukhari’s petition.

Bukhari, a British national, had moved the IHC through his counsel and requested the court to issue directives to the authorities concerned so that his name could be taken off the list.

An IHC bench reserved its verdict on the matter after lawyers representing both sides concluded their arguments.

Moreover, Bukhari had been briefly stopped from boarding a chartered flight for Saudi Arabia from the Noor Khan Airbase.

Bukhari was also accompanied by PTI Chief Khan and the duo was visiting Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

Bukhari is facing a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry and has missed several summonses.

It is pertinent to mention that the disclosure of Zulfiqar Bukhari’s name in blacklist came to NAB’s notice through media reports when he was about to board a chartered flight along with PTI chief Imran Khan, Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi, Aleem Khan, Aun Chaudhry and another person to perform Umrah.

He was apprehended by the immigration staff at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, with the help of Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) on June 11.
