LONDON: Ousted prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz advised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) workers to remain calm in light of the Avenfield reference verdict which is due to be announced on Friday.

Maryam took to Twitter and said that “forces” had never been able to break her father’s resolve.

She also said, “PML-N’s lions, remember this! Do not get unsettled no matter what the verdict is.”

“All of this is not new for your Nawaz Sharif, he has faced exile, disqualification, and life imprisonment [sentence] in the past,” she also wrote.

The ousted PM’s daughter added, “It is positive that there is a leader who, for you, for this country, and for your vote’s sanctity is steadfast in his resolve and is ready to make any sacrifice for the same.”

She said that her father had paid a “heavy price” for the path he had taken and Nawaz “chose this path despite being aware that it was not easy and a price for it had to be paid”.

Referring to the upcoming general elections, Maryam added, “The [real] decision will be made on July 25 and we are facing the snakes hiding in the democratic system.”

Cautioning the party’s workers, she said, “Remember the faces of the conspirators and pawns on July 25 and God willing, victory awaits you.”
