Peshawar hotel owner and manager booked for murdering guests

PESHAWAR: The owner and the manager of a hotel here have been booked for killing seven guests.

A member of the deceased family named Humayun, in his statement to the police and court, alleged that his family members were carrying Rs1 million in cash and gold worth 250 grams.

He accused Afandi Hotel owner Nasirul Mulk and manager Shahzad Ahmed of setting off a bomb of some sort in a bid to take possession of his relatives’ money and gold.

The police said that an explosion was reported on the night of May 11 inside the hotel’s room 408. The blast claimed the lives of Mehran, Najmeena, Nargis, Rehmal and Aasaish.

Two of the victims, Kamran and Aamir, succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

Humayun claimed that the money and jewellery disappeared after the explosion.

Murder and looting charges have been included in the FIR.
