Election 2018: ECP requests media to air polling results after 7pm on July 25

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) secretary on Thursday requested the media to refrain from airing election results on July 25, stating that no information should be aired on TV before 7 pm.

“Please make sure that no election results are aired before 7 pm on polling day,” the ECP secretary said.

The request was made during a meeting between the ECP secretary and chief election commissioner (CEC), retired Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman Muhammad Baig.

Baig assured the commission of PEMRA’s support and briefed Justice Raza and the ECP secretary on the media’s code of conduct.

Citizens of Pakistan will be able to cast their vote on July 25 from 8 am to 6 pm.
