DUBAI – Days after stepping down as the chairman of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has also resigned as the chairman of his favourite community on the social media website Orkut, APML president Dr Mohammad Amjad told The Dependent.

Musharraf who had been hoping to become the prime minister of Pakistan via APML platform without really contesting the elections, and wanted to remain the community chairman without ever having contested for it, ended his decade old association with both the party and the community.

“Musharraf has sent his resignation from the position of the chairman of WE LUV MUSHY to every one of his contacts on Orkut,” Dr Amjad told The Dependent.

It was no longer possible for the former chairman to run the community on a social media platform that no longer exists, said the party leader.

“Similarly, there is little point in running a party that doesn’t really exist,” he added, confirming that contrary to popular opinion while he has resigned from and to most other things, Musharraf still hasn’t resigned as the Chief of Army Staff.

Sources informed The Dependent that the former Army chief has sent a formal request notifying about the change in its chairmanship to the Orkut administration, which, again, does not exist.

However, Musharraf, despite his resignation, will remain the supremo of WE LUV MUSHY
