61 booked by DRAP for making, selling unregistered, spurious drugs

ISLAMABAD: Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) National Task Force has booked 61 medical stores and pharmaceutical companies in cases pertaining to the selling and manufacturing of spurious and unregistered drugs.

While briefing National Health Services (NHS) Federal Minister Muhammad Yusuf Shaikh, the authority explained that it had taken 2,500 regulatory actions and conducted 2,176 inspection visits over a period of six months.

DRAP CEO Dr Sheikh Akhter Hussain said that information about unregistered and spurious drugs was shared by provincial governments.
