ISLAMABAD: Rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours while isolated heavy falls are also likely at few places.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the rainfall forecasted at Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan divisions, while at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur divisions in Punjab.
The rainfall is also forecasted at Sukkur, Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions of Sindh and Balochistan provinces besides Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy falls are also expected at isolated places at Lahore, Gunjranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Hazara, Bunnu, DI Khan, DG Khan and Zhob divisions whereas hot and humid weather to continue elsewhere in the country during this time span.
Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending northeastwards. Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are continuously penetrating upper and central parts of the country. A westerly wave is also present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next 48 hours, an official of the Met Office said.
In the last 24 hours, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at a number of places in Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Malakand and Hazara. The weather remained hot and humid in other parts of the country.
