Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s affection for electables has surprised many people but not those who are aware of his impulsive nature, according to a local media outlet.
Khan used to consider such politicians as the ugly face of politics in Pakistan and even until 2013 general elections, the PTI chief continued to snub them.
In a recent interview given to a local media channel, Khan said that one could not even think of winning in several constituencies without electables.
Khan’s impulsive nature can be seen in the run-up to the finalisation of the name for the caretaker Punjab chief minister (CM) slot.
The PTI leader took several U-turns and former Punjab Assembly leader of the opposition and PTI leader Mahmoodur Rashid found it difficult to explain his chairman’s position.
Finally, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) chose the caretaker Punjab CM.
Similarly, Khan was dubbed as U-turn Khan on social media due to his wavering stance regarding the 2013 General elections, Panama scandal probe and formation of a judicial commission regarding alleged rigging in the 2013 polls.
Moreover, Khan made a claim regarding the general elections in 2013 pertaining to the ’35 punctures’ and later retracted it by saying that it was a mere political statement.
Similarly, the PTI chief has time and again taken extreme positions regarding other parties such as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and its leader former president Asif Ali Zardari.
However, PTI voted for the PPP-backed candidates for the position of Senate chairman and vice chairman during the recent Senate elections.
