ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal ordered the complaint verification of alleged corruption, increase in estimated cost and non-completion of TransPeshawar Rapid Transport System (BRT).

The NAB chief has ordered NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) director general to conduct complaint verification of why the estimated cost the project had been increased to Rs64 billion from the initial estimate of Rs49.36 billion.

Astonishingly, the project is still incomplete despite a whopping increase in the project’s cost.

The NAB chairman also ordered to find out reasons that why the estimated cost of the project increased and why the project was not completed well in time within the prescribed time schedule.

The NAB chairman said that NAB will continue playing its role in ensuring judicious utilisation of national money and elimination of corruption from the country as per law.
