Model Saheefa Jabbar encourages women to accept their beauty

Pakistani Model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak who has never shied away from expressing her views on matters relating to social issues has now addressed the issue relating to body image on her social media.

“Freckles, blemishes, fine lines, open pores, dark circles, acne, scars, fatness. Why [does] a woman worry so much for all these things?” Saheefa wrote in an Instagram post.

The model, who received backlash for cutting short her hair last year, asked women to reflect on the source of their self-doubt and encouraged them to let go of the conventional beauty standards.

“Where does that self-doubt come from? Why don’t I like seeing my face in the mirror without a concealer? No matter how nicely dressed I am, no matter how well spoken and educated or successful I am, there’s always a doubt! Self-doubt. Why do I feel the need to shave my arms and legs every second day and let’s not forget about the painful hot wax process. I am more than this. YOU are more than this,” wrote the model on social media.

The actor has previously advocated for women rights and mental health. She does that by posting blank images on her Instagram profile along which she writes thought-provoking captions.

In a recent interview with Pakistan Today, when asked what message she would give to young girls, Saheefa said, “Focus on getting an education and being independent. Always keep learning and keep doing. Don’t limit yourself, life has lots to offer.”
