LONDON: Shortly after their energetic concerts in Melbourne and Sydney, the multi-platinum South Asian band JoSH last week took to the stage in London and delighted their fans with a rocking bhangra performance.

The Toronto-based Indo-Pakistan duo, comprising best friends Qurram Hussain and Rupinder Magon, performed live at a corporate launch party at The Dorchester Hotel with a team of talented musicians of UK who have played with the world’s top singers.

Besides, the Aye Mausam singers also appeared on the red carpet at fundraising and corporate event. Qurram and Rup also recorded a new song in a studio in London which would be released after Eid in September.

Talking about the UK tour, Qurram said that London stayed true to its artistic promise. He said that they experienced two great things in the London show: performing at The Dorchester Hotel, which was filled with such stories and history, and performing with some of the most talented musicians of UK.

“Travelling is more than fun for me; I always go and try to discover new bands to play with, so I can constantly experiment with and advance my sound, and these guys in the UK were just the right crew for that. I also got a chance to write and tried out some new vibes,” he added.

This time in the UK, JoSH performed with Sagar Jilka who has played with Anuradha Paudwal, Shujat Ali Khan, Shaukat Ali, Rafaqat Ali Khan, Mohit Lalwani, So has Trushar and Dharmesh.

“Dhani has performed intimately with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Channi Singh (of Alaap), while Dharmesh has toured a lot with Kumar Sanu and Himesh Reshammiya.

“It was an amazing experience to perform with these talented guys,” he concluded.
