HYDERABAD: The Mirza family is set to contest the upcoming general elections from five out of seven seats in the district as part of the Grand Democratic Alliance.
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, Dr Fehmida Mirza, Hasnain Mirzi and Hassan Mirza are participating in the elections.
Hassan Mirza will contest from NA-229, Dr Fehmida from NA-230 and PS-73, Husnain from PS-72 and Dr Zulfiqar Mirza from PS-74.
For the remaining two constituencies, PS-70 Matli and PS-71 Talhar, the alliance has chosen Riaz Ahmed Nizamani and Dr Abdullah Talpur. The district is set to witness a tough electoral contest between the Mirzas and the PPP.
The Mirza family and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are expected to have a tough contest in the elections.
Candidates from the two parties were allotted symbols by the returning officers on Saturday.
