According to the data issued by Kashmir Media Service, of those martyred, three youth were killed in a fake encounter in Kupwara.
The killings rendered three women widowed and four children orphaned. During the period, 236 people were injured due to the use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells by the Indian army, paramilitary and police personnel on peaceful protesters while 176 persons including Hurriyet activists and students were arrested during house raids and crackdown operations.
The Indian troops also damaged 22 residential houses during the month.
Last month the Indian military announced the resuming of military operations against rebels in occupied Kashmir after a rare 30-day suspension for Ramazan.
Army operations were halted on May 16 at the start of Ramazan, despite a months-long escalation of violence in the Muslim-majority Himalayan region.
